Custom domains

A custom domain (like myname.dev) replaces the default URL your host gives you. Buy a domain from a registrar, add it in your hosting dashboard, then update the DNS records it tells you to. DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours to spread.

1. Buy a domain (Namecheap, Cloudflare, Porkbun...)
2. Vercel -> Project -> Settings -> Domains -> Add "myname.dev"
3. In your registrar's DNS settings add what Vercel shows, e.g.:

   Type    Name   Value
   A       @      76.76.21.21
   CNAME   www    cname.vercel-dns.com

4. Wait for DNS to update. HTTPS is set up automatically.
