What is Node.js

Node.js lets you run JavaScript on the server, outside of the browser. Before Node.js, JavaScript only worked in browsers. Now you can use the same language for frontend and backend.

// Run a JavaScript file from terminal
// node index.js

console.log("Hello from Node.js!")

// Access built-in modules
const os = require('os')
console.log(os.platform())  // your operating system

const path = require('path')
console.log(path.join(__dirname, 'files'))
